Log in with your parent account and select users from the main menu. You'll need to enable Spelling Choice to give you children your own set of custom spellings. They'll appear for your children under the School Spellings.
Ensure that the Spelling Choice box is ticked. If not select Edit and tick the Spelling Choice box for each of your children you'd like to select custom spelling for.
If you've previously created your own spelling lists, the spelling will be shown under each year group. Other select create to add you custom spellings.
Enter the word you'd like to have in your custom spelling list. Select the Active checkbox and ensure the spelling is assigned to the correct year group. You also have the option to add a sentence. This is optional, but we recommend you do this, as it really helps children understand and spell the word in context of a sentence. The select continue to save the spelling.
Once you've created the spelling it will appear in the year group you've assigned it to. When the spelling is initially created there is a short delay while the Spell Wizards system fetches the spoken spelling, and if added a spoken sentence. This process usually takes 10-15mins, but we recommend your wait at least 1 hour to fetch and assign the spoken spellings.
Continue to add spellings for your custom spelling list and remember to assign the spelling to the correct year group. If you incorrectly assign the spelling to the wrong year group, you can Edit the spelling and change the year group assignment.
Once the spoken spellings are fetched, you will see the playback button next to each spelling. If you have also assigned a sentence to the spelling the spoken sentence will also be shown. Click on the play button to listen to the spoken spelling and sentence (if applicable). You're done and your child(ren) can now use the new custom spelling list.
Your child(ren) can log in as normal.
As long as Spelling Choice was set for your child(ren) then your child(ren) will see School Spellings in the available list of spellings.
Your child(ren) can learn to spell, your custom spelling list. Good luck!
